EnerBurn® is a proprietary liquid fuel combustion catalyst technology owned by EnerTeck Chemical Corporation. HOW THE TECHNOLOGY WORKS:

EnerBurn is a fuel borne catalyst additive that is registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EnerBurn has also passed review by CARB for use in California fuels.

EnerBurn catalytically accelerates the combustion of diesel fuel causing it to reach its maximum burn rate earlier in each power stroke of a piston. This results in more complete combustion or a “cleaner burn” prior to the exhaust valve opening.  Harmful emissions, e.g., carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbon, and diesel particulates (soot and smoke) in the exhaust are greatly lowered.  The effect of lowered soot loads through the engine and exhaust system translates to less fouling of components (the DPF, EGR, DOC, exhaust sensors, “doser” valve, and exhaust turbo) and lowered soot contamination of engine oil.

The more fuel that can be burned prior to the completion of the power stroke, the better the end result of emissions reduction and improved fuel economy. This is accomplished in engines that are conditioned with EnerBurn. Correspondingly in-cylinder pressure develops faster and the exhaust gas temperature is lowered resulting in higher engine thermal efficiency. This is the key to lowering the production of NOx (NO and NO2).

As an added benefit, EnerBurn gradually cleans both the engine and exhaust-side components of carbon build-up.  Engine Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGT) have been measured to be approx. 200 – 300 degrees lower when using fuel treated with EnerBurn than without.  Carbon deposits on exhaust side turbochargers and diesel particulate filters will gradually burn off resulting in the “cleaning effect” that is typically observed by engine owners and mechanics.

It is through these combined effects of enhanced fuel combustion and lowered carbon burn-out temperature that EnerBurn eliminates many of the common maintenance issues associated with engines and exhaust after-treatment (DPF/DEF emissions) systems.

In the competitive business of hydraulic fracturing, one company turned to EnerBurn to improve
profitability in the face of ever increasing diesel costs. Diesel fuel consumption was measured before
and after implementation of EnerBurn; the reduction in fuel consumption was 9% (+/- 1%) on average across three different steady state engine loads. The company hired an independent engineering consulting firm to conduct the tests, thus ensuring accurate and unbiased test results.

Results were measured on a 2010 new Caterpillar 3512, 2250 hp, Tier 2 engine.

RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS*:

Multi-Billion Dollar Company Increases Engine Up-Time 10-Fold With EnerBurn

EnerBurn eliminates equipment downtime and costly maintenance
due to diesel particulate filter clogging

Losing money on equipment downtime and maintenance in the competitive business of hydraulic fracturing, one company turned to EnerBurn when neither the manufacturer, nor the shop maintenance team could solve the problem. All BEFORE and AFTER emissions tests were performed according to EPA certified methods by a 3rd party engineering company. After initial implementation and testing, the company realized an engine up-time increase well beyond expectations that had been laid out for the project.

More Torque, Reduced Emissions and Fuel Consumption

Large tugboat company realizes >300% ROI

Setting out to find a solution to increase power and torque, one tugboat company turned
to EnerBurn. Proving “actual” results was critical, so they chose to hire an engineering consulting
firm to run an unbiased test. What they achieved with EnerBurn far-surpassed their expectations.

ENGINE & TESTING DETAILS:

Results were measured in a triple screw motor vessel operating on the lower Mississippi River. All test measurements were performed by a 3rd party engineering company. Test equipment was calibrated according to manufacturer’s instructions and traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) prior to the test. EMD (General Motors) 2-cycle, 2,280 hp per engine three (3) engines. Maximum Load at Dead Rack (900 rpm). 13 month test period.

EnerBurn Reduces Fuel Consumption For National Construction Company

Testing suspended when an improved fuel efficiency of 5.5% was achieved

A nationally-ranked construction company, and long-term user of EnerBurn, reported fleet-wide fuel
savings of 7-14% as measured according to their internal fuel tracking procedures. The fleet of diesel engines includes gen-sets, off-road construction equipment, and heavy-duty road transport vehicles.

ENGINE & TESTING DETAILS:

Results were measured on a1250 KVA diesel gen-set engine by a 3rd party engineering company. Test equipment and methods were per EPA procedures for heavy duty diesel engines operated at steady state.

Locomotive engines consume enormous quantities of diesel thus adding to the carbon footprint of the products they transport. EnerBurn lowers the carbon footprint in a cost-effective way; a “win-win solution” for transportation companies and their clients.

ENGINE & TESTING DETAILS:

Results were measured on a fleet of twelve (12) in-service rail locomotive engines and compared to twelve (12) untreated in-service locomotives over a period of 1 year. All were model MK 1500 locomotive equipped with Caterpillar 3512 (1400hp) engines.

EnerBurn passed tests performed by the Engine System Development Center (ESDC) for “fit for use” in locomotive engines.
The ESDC is a division of Canadian Allied Rail (CAD).

RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS*:

Fuel consumption was measured as a Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) in units of Ib/hp-hr. BSFC measurement error was +/- 1%. “Notch 4” corresponds to 40% powered, 60% idle.
