A: This means that Better Diesel FBC meets or exceeds EPA criteria for demonstrating no harm to either engines or the environment and is approved for use in all US road diesel.

Q: Will Better Diesel FBC work for my pre-emissions heavy duty diesel engines?
A: Yes, Better Diesel FBC works the same way in all diesel engines to improve combustion on average by ~10%. The main results are better fuel economy and dramatically lowered exhaust emissions as demonstrated by validated test procedures.
Q: What is my cost for Better Diesel FBC?
A: At the suggested treat ratio, one gallon of Better Diesel FBC will treat 3200 gallons of fuel at a cost of around $.07/gallon of fuel. This translates to approximately $0.01/mile of cost assuming a baseline for fuel consumption of 7 MPG. Our product has been verified to produce tangible benefits that translate to lower cost of ownership of heavy duty transport trucks. Q: I know that Better Diesel FBC will eliminate soot from my DPF but what about ash?
A: Yes, Better Diesel FBC reduces and/or eliminates soot deposits throughout the engine and the DPF. Soot is the primary culprit for DPF regeneration problems as well as premature engine wear and emissions system component failures in today’s modern diesel engines. However, unlike soot, ash cannot be burned off. Total ash from all sources (fuel contamination, engine oil additives, dirt and dust) makes up a very small fraction of the incoming soot. These trace metallic impurities combine to create the so-called “ash” residues trapped by the DPF. Trace amounts of “ash” are also left behind following soot “burn-out” as performed during DPF regeneration. We recommend that you adhere to the OEM recommended interval for routine cleaning of the DPF to remove ash.
Q: Can I use Better Diesel FBC to treat diesel for my pick-up truck, VW, BMW, or Mercedes diesel engines?
A: Yes, Better Diesel FBC works extremely well to improve engine performance and lower fuel consumption and emissions for diesel pickup trucks and passenger cars. The dose is 1 ounce per 25 gallons.
Q: Can I use Better Diesel FBC for my gasoline engine?
A: Yes, but please change the dose to 1 ounce per 30 gallons. It works especially well for classic cars.

Q: How is Better Diesel FBC different from other fuel additives?
A: Better Diesel FBC acts as a cure to problems caused by the incomplete combustion of diesel and gasoline by increasing the burn rate of fuel where it matters most, in the power stroke of the piston. The engine efficiency improvement is around 10% on average as measured under controlled conditions of steady state engine speed and torque. The increase in engine efficiency is fairly easy for customers to observe for themselves even though results for improvement in fuel economy will vary under real world driving conditions.
Q: Can I mix with other fuel additives?
A: Yes, it is safe to use Better Diesel FBC along with all other types of fuel additives. Please do not mix additives directly. Instead add each of them separately into the fuel tank.
Q: Will I see changes to my used engine oil sample?
A: Yes, you may see an increase in elemental iron. This is nothing to worry about as long as other wear metals stay consistent.
Q: Can Better Diesel FBC potentially cause problems in the high pressure fuel pump or fuel injectors?
A: No. The iron-containing catalyst molecule which serves as the active ingredient in Better Diesel FBC is fully soluble in diesel and gasoline. There are no solid particles of any kind that could possibly cause problems with the high pressure fuel pump or fuel injectors.
Q: Will the appearance of my DPF change while using Better Diesel FBC?
A: Yes. First of all, consistent use of Better Diesel FBC will burn off the oily black soot coating on the front face of the DPF and will keep new soot deposits from forming. For an in-service diesel engine this typically occurs within use of the first 1-gallon of Better Diesel FBC. A reddish-orange tint to the white DPF ceramic substrate may develop with long-term use. This is caused by the combustion of the catalyst active ingredient which thermally degrades to very small quantities of iron-bearing “ash” that also gets trapped by the DPF. This additional amount of ash is will not shorten the OEM recommended interval between DPF cleanings to remove accumulated “ash”. Ash (metallic) residues from other sources include engine oil (Ca, Mg, Zn), coolant (Na, K), dust and dirt (Si), and rust (Fe) contaminated fuel. Typical recommended intervals for DPF ash clean-out are every 200,000 to 400,000 miles for class 7 & 8 engines.
Q: How does Better Diesel FBC decrease my DEF usage?
A: Better Diesel FBC increases the thermal efficiency of all diesel engines which results in the lowering of the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) by a small but significant amount. Since NOx production is thermally driven it is roughly proportional to EGT. The fuel catalyst treatment has been measured to reduce NOx output by about 15% on average. In newer engines, the SCR system will respond by injecting less DEF fluid into the SCR system.
Q: How long will it take for Better Diesel FBC to burn out carbon deposits and soot build-up in my engine and exhaust system?
A: The “clean-out’ effect of Max Mileage FBC for an in-service diesel engine can take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Keep in mind that the initial “clean out phase” may produce higher levels of smoke as the soot is being burned off at a lower temperature with the help of the fuel borne catalyst. In some cases, especially for very high mileage engines, DPF sensors may react to to this temporary condition and things may appear to get worse before they get better. This is normal and should pass without resulting in an engine “derate” situation.
